Zhongguancun Forum (中关村论坛) is an annual science and technology conference held in Beijing, organized under the auspices of China’s central government and closely associated with the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone, the country’s foremost technology hub. The forum functions as a flagship platform for showcasing China’s advances in frontier technologies, and digital humans have featured with increasing prominence across successive editions. At the 2024 annual forum’s parallel session on Internet 3.0, a digital human rendering of the late scientist Qian Xuesen was presented in a cross-temporal dialogue with Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Jin Yong, staging one of the forum’s most high-profile heritage digital human demonstrations to date. By the 2026 edition, which opened on March 25, digital humans and AI-driven conference services had moved from showcase to operational infrastructure: Shiyou Technology (世优科技) deployed an AI digital human all-in-one system as a full-scenario smart campus assistant, the digital human ViviDora participated as a named guest in panel discussions, and the forum hosted dedicated thematic sub-forums addressing humanoid robot advancement and AI-driven industrial upgrading. The trajectory across editions reflects Zhongguancun Forum’s role not merely as an observer of digital human development in China but as an active venue for its public demonstration and institutional legitimation.
