XVERSE (元象; legal entity 深圳元象信息科技有限公司) is a Shenzhen-based AI and 3D technology company founded in November 2020 by former Tencent Vice President and Tencent AI Lab founder 姚星 (Yao Xing), who is also its legal representative. It is registered and headquartered in Nanshan District, at the Shenzhen Software Industry Base, and its investors include Tencent, Hillhouse Capital, Sequoia China and Temasek. It describes itself as a leading domestic AI and 3D technology service company building a one-stop platform for AI-driven 3D content production and consumption, under the slogan “define your world” (定义你的世界). Its own site dates the founding to early 2021; the registry and the Shenzhen provincial timeline both give November 2020.
Its position in the digital human value chain is as a supplier of the motion layer, arrived at by generation rather than by capture. In late August 2024 it released MotionGen, described as China’s first physics-based 3D motion generation model, which converts text prompts into realistic 3D character animations using a proprietary algorithm combining reinforcement learning, physical simulation, VQ-VAE and Transformer architectures. This places it alongside Virtual DotPoint in supplying the movement that drives 3D characters, reaching the same layer from the opposite direction.
The company was a cooperation partner of the 2024 China Digital Human Conference. Its Huanlü Zhi Men (幻旅之门) AI-empowered cloud-collaborative VR large-space solution was recognised among the 2025 metaverse typical cases. It has also worked in game AI, associated with the F.A.C.U.L. AI companion in the tactical first-person shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite, shown at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, which understands and responds to player natural language commands in real time.
