Xugu Future Technology (虚谷未来科技（北京）有限公司) is the Beijing consumer-facing virtual-human company of the Digital Domain group (数字王国), established on 6 August 2019 as a wholly Hong Kong-invested subsidiary with registered capital of RMB 10 million, legal representative Tang Wenhui (唐文晖) and general manager Tang Jiaxian (唐佳娴). The company commercialises the film-VFX virtual-human technology Digital Domain built on productions such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and the Avengers films, packaging it into consumer-level virtual IP operation; alongside its flagship character it operates the virtual IPs Star, Nonoka and Lydia.
Its flagship is Banzhang Xiao’ai (班长小艾, “Class Monitor Alice”), launched with Digital Domain on 1 June 2020 as China’s first virtual reading ambassador for children — a 12-year-old character aimed at pre-school and early-primary audiences, who has appeared on China Poetry Conference (中国诗词大会) and CCTV’s children’s channel, sold out a 2,022-edition NFT collection on the Weiyi Art platform in May 2022, and was shown in the Fujian Internet Society’s digital-human showcase in December 2022. The character’s verified Weibo account carries an authentication line naming the company’s exact registered name. Xugu Future appears on the iiMedia China virtual-human industry innovation force award roster; within the Digital Domain group it is the mainland entity that carries the consumer virtual-human work.
