Virtual DotPoint (虚拟动点; legal entity 北京虚拟动点科技有限公司) is a Beijing-based motion capture and spatial computing company founded in March 2017 and wholly owned by Leyard (利亚德). It is headquartered at 北京市石景山区八大处路49号院4号楼6层6198, maintains a research and development centre in North America, and its legal representative is 刘耀东 (Liu Yaodong). It operates the official OptiTrack China site, and describes itself as an AI and spatial computing company built on a “one body, three cores” (一体三核) strategy of AI large models, hardware, and spatial data. Its core technologies are OptiTrack optical positioning, optical and markerless motion capture, and the LYDIA motion large model, applied across embodied-intelligence robotics, film and television production, games and animation, cultural tourism, sport, medicine and education.
Its place in the digital human value chain is as a supplier of the performance layer: it does not create digital humans, it drives them. The clearest instance is the Hunan Satellite TV digital host Xiao Yang (小漾), who debuted in January 2022 on the premiere of Hello Saturday (《你好星期六》) alongside veteran host He Jiong. Virtual DotPoint supplied the motion capture for the production using 34 OptiTrack cameras running Motive and MotionBuilder, driving Xiao Yang in real time; Xiao Yang herself was built by Hunan Satellite TV’s 5G lab through digital light-field scanning of nearly a hundred real people, and her development was the work of the Mango Huanshi team rather than of Virtual DotPoint. Huawei Cloud’s MetaStudio platform supplied AI voice driving and offline rendering acceleration to the same production.
In February 2025 the company appeared at the Shenzhen International LED Exhibition, where it merged its LYDIA motion model with DeepSeek, shown alongside Shenzhen digital human demonstrations from Mengpai Group (梦派集团) and Unilumin (洲明科技).
