The University of Science and Technology of China (中国科学技术大学), on Jinzhai Road in Hefei, Anhui, works on digital humans through several of its schools.
A team from its School of Cyberspace Security and the company 灵境赛博 recreated the scientist Qian Xuesen (钱学森) as a “synthetic reality” digital human from one or two old photographs, presented at the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing. The university is also the developer of a hyper-realistic digital-human product, listed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, that uses neural radiance field rendering to generate facial expressions and lip movement, and it has applied for a patent on enhancing 3D digital-human generation through 2D editing (CN119850800A).
