Unicom Digital Technology (联通数字科技有限公司), incorporated on 30 April 2006 and registered in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Unicom and, with Unicom Data Intelligence (联通数据智能有限公司), builds and operates Unicom’s Yuanjing (元景) large models.

In August 2023 it won the National Natural History Museum of China’s 3.92-million-yuan contract for a digital human with guided-tour functions (具备导览功能的数字人), due for trial operation and acceptance in November 2024. With the China Unicom group and Unicom Data Intelligence it applied for a patent on driving a digital human’s body movements (CN121662061A), and with Unicom Wo Music and China Unicom’s Guangdong branch it submitted the immersive metaverse and digital-human solution that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism selected as an excellent national smart-tourism solution for 2024. Its Guangdong and Inner Mongolia branches have recruited partners for, and procured, AI digital-human capabilities.
