The Tengwang Pavilion (滕王阁) is a scenic area on the Gan River in Nanchang, Jiangxi, operated by Nanchang Tengwang Pavilion Management Co., Ltd. (南昌市滕王阁管理有限公司), a state-controlled company that runs its ticketing, visitor services and souvenirs. Over May Day 2024 the pavilion’s then administration, 南昌市滕王阁管理处, introduced an AI large-language-model and virtual-digital-human system: the virtual digital human 王勃 (Wang Bo), modelled on the author of the Preface to the Tengwang Pavilion, first served as an AI examiner, granting free admission to visitors who recite the Preface to his satisfaction, and now also acts as an AI tour guide on the pavilion’s screens and on visitors’ phones. Kuaiyu Technology (快语科技) is one of its designers. By 2026 王勃 had become one of the scenic area’s popular check-in points.
