Shanghai Yuewen Information Technology Co., Ltd. (上海阅文信息技术有限公司, formerly 上海阅闻信息技术有限公司) is the mainland operating company of China Literature (阅文集团, China Literature Limited, HKEX:00772), the Hong Kong-listed online-literature and IP group. It was registered on 2 April 2014 in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, its legal representative is China Literature’s chief executive Hou Xiaonan (侯晓楠), and it is the company that filed the group’s large model Yuewen Miaobi (阅文妙笔) with the regulator.

China Literature’s digital-human record rests on Ye Xiu (叶修), the protagonist of the web novel The King’s Avatar (全职高手) by Hudie Lan (蝴蝶蓝), first serialised on Qidian. The group turned the character into a virtual idol and managed him as if he were a real person: by 2019 he had endorsed nine brands, among them Bank of China, McDonald’s, Mirinda and Pond’s, and had tried live-commerce selling. The group’s own website still presents The King’s Avatar as its first breakout virtual character.

In 2026 its work moved toward AI-generated content built on its IP: it reported short-drama and AI-comic revenue up 2.3 times to 430 million yuan, with AI comics such as Three Thousand Guardians (三千庇护) passing three billion views, and its chief executive said tools such as its “Comic Drama Assistant” had tripled AI comic-drama revenue. Alongside Hongguo Duanju it set up standardised likeness-authorisation and IP-confirmation mechanisms for AI content creation.
