The Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (山东省文化和旅游厅) is the Shandong provincial government department for culture and tourism, which also carries the name Shandong Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics.
Its “Digital and Intelligent Cultural Tourism · Co-creating the Future” (数智文旅·共创未来) technology achievement recommendation catalogue is how it selects vendors for the sector; in 2026 it took in a full-chain, 60-frame, wear-free motion-capture digital human interaction solution submitted by Suzhou Kuyue with Xinhuanet. It launched the Shandong Cultural Tourism Digital Scenario Platform (山东文旅数字场景化平台), built by Shandong Performing Arts Group and partners, on 30 August 2022, and it is the provincial gateway for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s “AI + Culture and Tourism” pilots, to which cities such as Jinan may each recommend up to two cases, including digital human and robot guides. It co-hosted the 3rd Jinan International Biennale (December 2024 – April 2025), whose interactive “Lu Yun” (鲁韵) installation generated personalised digital humans for visitors. In the province, Mount Tai launched an AI digital human tour guide over the 2026 May Day holiday, covering more than 100 sites and more than 200 stone inscriptions.
