Ping An Bank (平安银行股份有限公司), the Shenzhen-listed national joint-stock bank (SZSE:000001) under Ping An Insurance Group, runs one of Chinese banking’s longest-lived digital human IPs: Ping An Xiaocainiang (平安小财娘). Launched in April 2021 as a youth-focused virtual IP and upgraded in January 2023 into a 3D virtual digital human, Xiaocainiang debuted on Bilibili with dance videos blending guofeng elements and pop choreography — single items passing half a million plays — appears in virtual livestreams and metaverse AI interactions, and lends her image to AR-interactive “好运萌主” debit and “电竞萌主” credit cards aimed at Gen-Z customers. The character, which trade reporting credits Chengdu’s Xinzhou Animation (新轴动画) with building, won the Asian Banker’s best digital social-media project award at its 2023 China Future Finance Summit and carries her own Baidu Baike entry. The bank holds a granted patent on virtual-image construction methods for financial-services scenarios, and at WAIC 2026 showed its “Utopia Vision” digital-marketing platform, which mass-produces digital human marketing material and earned the bank an Asia-Pacific best retail-bank generative-AI application award.
