It builds a conversational digital human of a dead relative from photographs, video, chat records and family recollection, and has served more than one hundred thousand clients. Reported cases include a Nanjing client who commissioned a digital human of a dead uncle to speak with his grandmother by video, withholding news of the death; funeral-industry operators have approached the studio about offering customised digital-life services.

The founder has said that data quality governs the result — the more complete the material, the closer the resemblance — and that he gives interviews partly to surface the risks of generative AI rather than only to raise the company’s profile. The deathcare application is the most ethically contested corner of the Chinese digital human sector, and the company is one of the earliest entrants in it.
