Migu Culture Technology (咪咕文化科技有限公司) was established on 18 November 2014 and is registered at 11 Deshengmenwai Street in Beijing’s Xicheng District, with registered capital of 10.4 billion yuan and 沈文海 as legal representative. It is the wholly owned content platform of China Mobile (中国移动通信集团有限公司) and the sole operating body for the group’s music, video, reading, games and animation businesses. Its Xiamen subsidiary Migu Xinkong holds its own registration.

It is a maker, and the evidence for that is unusually strong. It is a co-assignee with China Mobile on a patent application for a digital-human facial-expression driving method, and with China Mobile and FaceUnity (杭州相芯科技有限公司) on a fabric simulation patent. An assignee list is a legal filing rather than a claim, which is what separates this from a company describing its own work.

Its metaverse product line is built on three declared capabilities — 数智人 (digital intelligent humans), XR with glasses-free 3D, and digital space — and includes a 数智手语主播, a sign-language digital anchor. Named characters carry their own verified accounts: Linxi (麟犀), presented as China Mobile Migu’s AIdol, alongside the 元宇宙数智达人 figures 尤子希 and 古逸飞.

It also distributes what it makes, across its own applications, so it occupies a maker position and a platform-carrier position at once.
