Jiangsu Yangzi Evening News Co., Ltd. (江苏扬子晚报有限公司) is the operating company of the Yangtse Evening Post, one of China’s largest-circulation evening papers — registered on 29 March 2013 in Nanjing’s Jianye district with RMB 50 million capital, wholly owned by the Xinhua Daily Media Group (新华报业传媒集团), legal representative Liu Daying (刘大颖).
The paper’s digital-human work runs on two tracks. In May 2024 it signed a strategic agreement with the Science and Technology Park of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine to co-develop a virtual digital human health lecturer (虚拟数字人健康讲师) for elderly health education, pairing the university’s traditional-medicine expertise with the paper’s reach; the project records public-welfare science videos and offline “silver-age classroom” bases, and a 2026 commentary on the 15th Five-Year ageing agenda cited it as a smart-elderly-care exemplar that integrates fall-detection monitoring — technology deployed to extend practitioners rather than replace them. Separately the paper’s team built Ai Xiaoyu (艾小雨), a digital human hosted in its Ziniu News (紫牛新闻) app that narrates the stories of the Yuhuatai revolutionary martyrs.
