The Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (湖北省文化和旅游厅), at 23 Gongzheng Road in Wuhan’s Wuchang district, is the Hubei provincial government department for culture and tourism, led by Party Secretary and Director Ke Ke (克克).

Its first virtual spokesperson, the hyper-realistic Hu Bei’er (胡贝儿), built with Yidian Zixun’s Hubei office, debuted in February 2023 at the department’s “Nine-Headed Bird” cultural-tourism creative awards. Working with the Hubei Provincial Museum it has fielded AI digital humans of Qu Yuan (屈原) and Zhaojun (昭君), and at the 2025 Lantern Festival it launched a virtual band led by the digital humans Chu Yin (楚音) and Chu Tie (楚铁), drawn from four signature museum artefacts and connected to DeepSeek by Huazhong University of Science and Technology’s optical interaction key laboratory. Chu Yin, in a foreign-language interactive version, fronted Hubei’s stand at ITB China in Shanghai in May 2025. The department co-hosted the October 2025 International Wudang Tai Chi Cultural Festival in Shiyan, guided by the AI digital human Tai Chi Wa (太极娃), introduced the Jingjing (荆荆) and Chuchu (楚楚) digital humans at its March 2026 cherry-blossom press conference, and runs the Hubei Digital Culture-Tourism Research Institute jointly with Hubei University.
