Henan Radio and Television (河南广播电视台) is the provincial broadcaster of Henan, whose 2021 Spring Festival Gala piece “Tang Palace Night Banquet” (唐宫夜宴) — fourteen dancers as Tang-dynasty palace maids amid AR and 5G-generated virtual museum reconstructions — became the seed of a durable virtual-being franchise. From that IP the broadcaster’s own team developed the 3D hyper-real AI digital human Tang Xiaomei (唐小妹), described in its 2024 spring programming as self-developed, who has appeared across the China Festival (中国节日) program series, debuted as a virtual host for the 2024 season from brand promotion through AI interaction, was presented as the virtual digital human AI Tang Xiaomei (AI唐小妹) fronting a cyber-style AIMV re-expressing Tang culture for younger audiences, and by December 2025 was performing AI-driven song interpretations covered by Sina News. In February 2025 its livelihood channel put the AI host Xiaoge (笑歌) on air to carry a 45-minute flagship program, and an April 2025 Dazhong Daily analysis of the broadcaster’s micro-drama strategy records digital humans among the technologies in its self-directed digital-intelligence transformation. In June 2023 the broadcaster’s Elephant News Center signed a strategic cooperation with the China digital human intellectual-property deposit-and-protection platform.
