The Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports (海南省旅游和文化广电体育厅) is the Hainan provincial government department for tourism, culture, broadcasting and sport, formed on 29 September 2018 and based in Haikou.
It co-produced, with the Chengmai County government and under the guidance of the provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, Xin’an Dongpo (《心安东坡》), billed as China’s first AI-concept guofeng musical, in which an AI Su Dongpo, “Po Shu” (坡叔), created with AIGC, appears alongside the live cast. Made by Hainan Performing Arts Group, with digital performance content by a Hubei Institute of Fine Arts team, it premiered on 8 November 2025 at the opening of the 3rd China (Hainan) Dongpo Cultural Tourism Conference in Chengmai and toured nationally in 2026, with the department running “Follow Dongpo to Hainan” promotions at tour stops. When it launched the “Kuyou Hainan” (酷游海南) WeChat mini-program on 30 December 2024, the department said it would train a Hainan cultural-tourism AI digital human for the platform.
