Guangdong Radio and Television (广东广播电视台) is the provincial broadcaster of Guangdong and the developer-operator of the Broadcast Smart Digital Human (广播智慧数字人), selected as a named digital human case in the 2025 Metaverse Typical Cases published jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other ministries. Its broadcast large-model smart business platform, written up as a best practice by the Guangdong radio and television administration in December 2025, pairs digital humans with AI voice so that a ten-minute science segment that once took experts and presenters three hours to record is produced in thirty minutes in multiple versions, on a workflow-plus-agent deployment that mixes local hosting with public cloud. On screen, the broadcaster runs the recurrent digital human presenter Xiaoyu (小宇), who fronted silver-economy policy analysis during the 2026 Two Sessions, and it has built an intelligent converged-media application with Lianhui Technology (联汇科技) that treats the digital human as a reusable production component across its newsroom workflow. It is also developing multilingual AI digital humans integrating VR, AR and AIGC for promoting Guangdong exports abroad, and its satellite channel Guangdong TV has launched what it calls the first provincial-satellite-TV AI content full-chain ecosystem, with digital human IP operations as one of its lanes.
