Guangdong Network Radio and Television (广东网络广播电视台) is the internet broadcasting station sponsored by Guangdong Radio and Television (广东广播电视台) — a separately registered public institution with its own legal personality, and also distinct from the cable operator Guangdong Broadcasting Network. It is the builder and operator of Yue Xiaoman (悦小满), billed as the world’s first Cantonese virtual idol, who debuted on 21 May 2022 — the Xiaoman solar term — with the original single “Yuan Qi Xiao Man” (元气小满) and a holographic performance, alongside simultaneous account launches across Weibo, Bilibili, Douyin, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Built on motion-capture animation, AI, game engines, real-time rendering and ultra-high-definition video, the 2.5D character sings and dances, presents in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Japanese, and has since been upgraded into a real-time interactive virtual human with self-learning capability positioned for metaverse linkage, according to industry coverage by Sailixin Digital Media in October 2025. Yue Xiaoman served as one of the hosts of the first China (Foshan) Network Audiovisual Art Week in June 2023, has appeared in Mid-Autumn and anniversary programming including a 25th-anniversary golden-hits MV, and is documented in a Baidu Baike entry; the second phase of a virtual digital human top-50 industry ranking in the corpus lists her as a new virtual-employee entrant described as a TV-station intern.
