Guangdong Broadcasting Network Co., Ltd. (广东省广播电视网络股份有限公司) is Guangdong’s provincial cable-television network operator, established on 11 June 2010 under the central cultural-system reform, with legal representative Zeng Qingchun (曾庆春), registered capital of about RMB 5.42 billion and headquarters in Guangzhou’s Zhujiang New Town; it runs the province’s cable transmission network and the 96956 service platform. It is unlisted and unrelated to the Shaanxi-listed 广电网络 (600831).
Its digital-human role is that of a carrier bringing interactive digital humans to household television. In February 2025 it completed a private deployment of DeepSeek on its Nanyue Cloud and upgraded its first batch of AI applications — an interactive AI digital human, intelligent customer service, data Q&A and knowledge base — to DeepSeek-R1, per the national cable-network industry association. In June 2025 it publicly tendered the AI TV Butler (digital human) system project (AI电视管家（数字人）系统项目, RMB 3.89 million, self-funded): a big-screen AI application and management system through which users interact with a digital-human virtual persona on the TV. Skyworth Digital won the bid in July 2025 — the deal both companies present as a milestone for AI in the cable-operator home scenario, positioned in part at helping elderly viewers across the digital divide — and the operator showcased the AI TV Butler at the 2026 China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair.
