GRG Banking (广电运通) is a Guangzhou state-controlled listed company, SZSE 002152, established on 8 July 1999 and grown out of ATM manufacturing — it developed its own ATM core technology in its founding year — into financial self-service equipment, and from there into the staffed-counter software that now carries a digital human.
Its case is unusually well documented. The company’s “front-desk service digital human” (前台服务数字人) was selected for the 2025 metaverse typical-case list published jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Radio and Television Administration, one of 193 selected results and one of the typical digital human cases within it. GRG’s own site describes the system as integrating its self-developed AI large model with computer vision and interactive technology, offering multimodal consultation, transaction guidance and customer care, and it emphasises two rarely claimed properties: a full-stack self-controlled technology base, and fully offline software-hardware deployment that needs no external network.
The deployments named are financial and civic — China Construction Bank, the Agricultural Bank of China, Guangdong Rural Credit and more than ten other financial institutions, alongside government service halls, medical insurance centres and hospitals. Its hardware line is adjacent: the G100 bank-branch AI robot piloted at a state-owned bank and the G200 humanoid teller robot were demonstrated with digital human smart counters, through the subsidiary Chaozhi Machine (超智机器).
A robot is out of scope here as a subject in its own right, and in as a host for a virtual being. GRG sits on the line deliberately: what this record tracks is the digital human at the counter, not the cabinet it runs in.
