Nanjing Daming Culture Industry (南京大明文化实业有限责任公司), founded on 25 January 2007 at 1 Zhengxue Road in Nanjing’s Qinhuai district with registered capital of 610 million yuan, was set up by four state-owned shareholders, among them Nanjing Culture Investment Holding Group, to build and run the Great Bao’en Temple ruins park. It operates the Great Bao’en Temple Ruins Museum (南京大报恩寺遗址博物馆), a national first-grade museum and AAAA scenic area on the site of the Ming dynasty temple, and manages other museums under contract, including the Yancheng Museum.
In 2023 the museum and Tencent opened what they call China’s first “all-real interconnected” (全真互联) museum, built with Tencent Cloud digital-intelligent humans, AR, location services and digital twins. Its guide is Longnü (琉璃拱门龙女), a flying maiden who leads visitors through the virtual temple and its relics, and who also appeared in person to greet visitors over the May Day 2023 holiday. The project was named among the first national smart-tourism immersive-experience pilots.
