Global Digital Creations Holdings Limited (环球数码创意控股有限公司) is a Bermuda-incorporated, Hong Kong-headquartered computer graphics and digital content group listed on the GEM board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong under code 8271. The holding company was incorporated in October 2002 and listed in August 2003; the underlying business dates to around 2000. It is principally engaged in computer graphics creation and production and in intellectual-property-based value-added digital visual businesses, reporting through segments covering interactive entertainment and digital assets alongside new cultural and sports space.
Although the listed company sits in Hong Kong, its production work is substantially mainland-based, and its computer digital imaging business has been recognised by Chinese authorities, including designation as a national cultural export key enterprise for 2007–2008 and as a Shenzhen high and new technology enterprise. Its subsidiary 环球数码媒体科技（上海）有限公司 (IDMT) is a professional 3D digital talent training institution, and the group’s activities have spanned cultural industry parks, 3D animation creation and production, 3D animation talent training, and digital cinema solutions.
Its entry into the digital human value chain as a producer is dated and named. In March 2022 it co-developed the virtual human Yuanxin (元心) with Tencent Cloud and Tencent AI Lab — a kung-fu-style digital character described at the time as Global Digital Creations’ entry into virtual digital human production, drawing on more than two decades of CG production and motion capture experience. By 2026 its business was being described as spanning animation, interactive entertainment and digital virtual human production. It is also a founding member of the Metaverse Expert Committee (元宇宙专家委员会) established by the Beijing Information Industry Association, the body whose expert panels defined “metaverse”, “avatar” and “digital human” in national-standard form.
Not to be confused with two other GDCs. GD Culture Group (GD文化集团) is a separate Nasdaq-listed company whose core business is also AI-driven digital human model development, and which coverage likewise abbreviates GDC. GDC Technology Limited, a digital cinema company, is a subsidiary of this group rather than the same entity. The abbreviation “GDC” is deliberately excluded from this record’s name lists for that reason.
