CITIC Securities (中信证券), China’s largest investment bank, registered in Shenzhen and listed in Shanghai and Hong Kong, is the first brokerage to run a disclosed AI digital-employee workforce: at its 2026 capital-markets conference in November 2025 it announced 18 high-value digital employees in production — “digital doubles” (数字分身) of frontline staff, built on AI and full-pipeline data integration and credited with direct economic benefit across business lines.
The program is presented as a system rather than a stunt. The firm showed its AI employee system, spanning three categories of synthetic personas, at WAIC 2025, and works with Volcano Engine on a digital-employee system and a five-level standard for AI digital staff in financial services, framed explicitly around digital avatars and digital employees — putting CITIC Securities among the definers of the digital-employee category in Chinese finance as well as its deployers.
