Chongqing Daily Press Group (重庆日报报业集团) is the municipal party-press group of Chongqing, publisher of the Chongqing Daily and operator of the New Chongqing client (新重庆客户端), the news app it supervises and organizes that was formed in 2024 by merging the Chongqing Daily client with the Hualong.com New Chongqing client. In March 2026 the client launched the digital human IP Xiaoyan (小岩) as the “red digital envoy” of the Hongyan Party-Building Intelligent Alliance (红岩党建智联体) — recorded by the All-China Journalists Association as the first party-building vertical large model from a provincial-level party newspaper — handling policy interpretation, theory Q&A and party-affairs consultation in real-time interaction, one of five “super-ports” in the client’s platform strategy. The group is also leading a Chongqing municipal major science and technology special project intended to enrich multi-format emotional data corpora drawn from text and short video, with the explicit aim of moving from broadcast-style digital news anchors toward interactive, conversational digital humans, and its media-fusion technology team’s exploration of digital human, metaverse and AIGC applications in content production has been credited in award coverage carried by Sina Finance, with the client’s product forms extended across digital media assets, AR, digital humans and the metaverse through third-party research cooperation.
