China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. (中国东方航空股份有限公司), one of China’s three major carriers, is listed in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York, registered on 14 April 1995 at Shanghai Hongqiao’s airport district with legal representative Wang Zhiqing (王志清).
Its branded passenger-service digital human Dongdong (东东) — which carries its own Baidu Baike entry — went live in the East Air app for the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush: passengers converse by voice or text to book and change tickets, track refunds, update profiles and reach special-service entrances for pets, unaccompanied minors, bassinets and wheelchair assistance. The avatar is the visible layer of an eight-year digital-employee collaboration with Baidu Intelligent Cloud, which folded the airline’s core service capabilities into the Dongdong agent (Baidu developer-platform account, November 2025); China Civil Aviation News covered the app upgrade with digital-human interaction as a headline feature, and the company has demonstrated Dongdong’s end-to-end service at the 9th China-Eurasia Expo and its Asia-Europe Expo technology booth. A same-named terminal service robot Dongdong also works its airports and is a separate, physical product.
