The Chengdu Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum (成都杜甫草堂博物馆), a public institution at 37 Qinghua Road in Chengdu, preserves the home where the Tang poet Du Fu (杜甫) lived in Chengdu from the winter of 759; it is a first-grade national museum and one of the first batch of nationally protected heritage sites.
Its digital human “AI Du Fu” (AI杜甫) talks with visitors in the museum’s 李杜堂 hall, and was named a typical digital-human case in the four-ministry 2025 metaverse typical cases list. In early 2026, visitors to its 梦回洛阳 exhibition space could hold glasses-free 3D conversations with hyper-realistic digital humans of Li Bai (李白) and Du Fu. In August 2026 it opened a procurement for the upkeep and upgrade of its AI digital-human interaction system for 2026–2027.
