BesTV (百视通) is a Chinese multi-channel video integration and distribution platform, incorporated on 25 November 2005 as 百视通网络电视技术发展有限责任公司, registered in Shanghai’s Changning district under 卢宝丰 and wholly held by the listed 东方明珠新媒体股份有限公司. It opened China’s IPTV market — SMG received the country’s first IPTV integrated operation licence in March 2005 — and now runs IPTV, OTT, digital pay television and mobile television, with large-screen coverage across all 31 provincial-level regions. Since September 2020 BesTV+ has been the single streaming platform for SMG and Oriental Pearl.
It uses digital humans as on-air talent. It deployed a digital human anchor named Shangwenxuan (尚文萱) in a purpose-built virtual studio for the 2026 Major League Baseball season, the presenter’s first appearance in a live sports broadcast, and worked with the Shanghai Museum to bring an online Ancient Chinese Sculpture Gallery experience to a streaming context.
