Exhibition and museum production

The Anthropology Museum of Guangxi (广西民族博物馆) is the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region’s public museum of ethnic culture, at 11 Qinghuan Road in Nanning’s Qingxiu District; opened in 2009, it holds one of the world’s largest collections of ancient bronze drums. For the 2026 ‘Third Day of the Third Month’ festival it launched its own AI docent 小壮娃 (Xiaozhuang Wa): visitors summon it by scanning with WeChat or Alipay for smart explanation, Q&A and cultural popular science, and its commentary follows their position in the galleries — at the cloud-and-thunder-pattern bronze drum it tells the story of the ‘king of bronze drums’. The museum also shows animated digital humans narrating bronze-drum culture through holographic displays and an immersive space, and in June 2026 used 小壮娃 to carry its Zuojiang Huashan rock-art heritage programme.
