The Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (安徽省文化和旅游厅) is the Anhui provincial government department for culture and tourism, registered at the provincial administrative centre on Zhongshan Road in Hefei’s Baohe district and led by Director Zhou Mingjie (周明洁).
On 15 December 2025 it and three other provincial departments issued the Action Plan on Accelerating Technology-Empowered Cultural Tourism Development (《关于加快推进科技赋能文旅发展行动方案》), which calls for virtual digital human concerts, immersive cinemas and dome theatres. It ran the Anhui Province AIGC Cultural Tourism and Broadcasting Application Competition (安徽省AIGC文旅广电应用大赛), launched on 12 September 2025 with an intelligent agent and digital human track; its 780 entries included Anhui Broadcasting and Television Station’s “Super Xiaowan” (超级小皖) agent and the “Wuhu Jiuzi” digital human (芜湖鸠兹数字人) by a Hefei Normal University team. Its annual “520” cultural tourism consumption season has featured a virtual digital human presenting Hefei (2024) and a metaverse-and-digital-human-themed 2025 edition co-hosted with the Wuhu government. On 20 January 2026 it held its first technology-empowered cultural tourism sharing session in Hefei, where nine units presented on AIGC, multimodal large models and digital humans.
